A cult classic that beats all the other cult classics. This truly is a fabulous film. I could mislead and say sarcastically, "oh this film is one not to be missed," but to be honest, this film is one truly not to be missed. Watching it for the fifth time last night, I have now decided this film tops my list of all time favorite movies as number one. It's hidden agenda of expressing to the viewer that we all are zombies whether we are flesh eaters or text messages, we all in some way or another are zombies in our own ways. The transformation Shawn takes from being a nothing, a loser, a man doing nothing with his life to becoming a leader and saving the lives of his friends and his one true love Liz is well written and at time touching. The most tender event in the film is when Shawn's mother is bitten and passes, then turns in to the living dead, starts to attack them and with tears streaming down Shawn's face, "sorry mom," he pulls the trigger and destroys his zombie mother, he collapses on the floor and wails uncontrollably muttering, "I'm so sorry." This film is something that cannot be missed, with a mixture of comedy, drama, and heart felt love. Never would you think a film about zombies could be about so much more. Don't miss this one of a kind thriller.
